COVID-19 and Festival Postponement

It’s an unreal reality we have ended up in. The global impact of the COVID-19 virus is unprecedented. Our thoughts go out to everyone who is affected by the virus, either because of their health or the loss of income. Our gratitude goes to the healthcare workers who are saving lives at their own risk.

With a heavy heart we are postponing the FIBER Festival 2020 to a later date. Our fifth edition was planned for May 13 – 17. The Dutch government announced an official ban on all events until the first of June. The health and safety of our team, artists and visitors is our utmost priority. Currently we are working with all artists and partners towards the launch of a new 2020 date, after summer. We will keep you informed over the coming weeks.

For the same reason our opening concert with Jenny Hval and Félicia Atkison, in collaboration with The Rest Is Noise (Muziekgebouw) will be postponed until further notice. FIBER and The Rest Is Noise, will share more detailed information soon.

Many independent artistic practitioners within our network have been financially affected by this, and struggle to showcase their work visible and making ends meet. In order to support them, FIBER is examining how to sustain their visibility and continue to broadcast artistic value for society.

For now, stay safe and take care of each other.
