Kim Stanley Robinson

Pre-recorded Statement

Kim Stanley Robinson is an American novelist, widely recognized as one of the foremost living writers of science fiction. Robinson began publishing novels in 1984. His work has been described as “humanist science fiction” and “literary science fiction”. He became best known for the Mars Trilogy; a series of three books that chronicles the settlement and terraforming of Mars, while Earth suffers from overpopulation and ecological disaster.

Kim Stanley Robinson will publish his next novel in October: The Ministry for the Future. As with many of his recent novels, like New York 2140, 2312, or Aurora, his focus is firmly on the state of the Earth, and the effect that climate change has on human civilization.
